Originally from the Washington DC area in the USA, Carter has lived in Costa Rica, Chile, China, and Taiwan. He holds a BA in Geography and Asian Studies from Macalester College and recently completed a Fulbright teaching grant. Carter is fluent in Mandarin Chinese, having studied it for over 8 years and holding a certificate from Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Most recently, he taught junior high English and Reading in Taipei, Taiwan. He also brings Montessori classroom experience and teaching experience in English, Spanish, and Mandarin. Carter was a Futuro Verde student in 5th grade and is excited to give back to the community. He firmly believes in the value of bilingual and IB Diploma education and looks forward to creating opportunities for his students. In his free time, Carter enjoys hiking, crocheting, dancing, and reading, preferably at the beach, and loves to strike up conversations with anyone.
