About
Her family moved to the area seven years ago, and Futuro Verde was a significant factor in their decision, as its philosophy and mission align with her values for her children. Despite the challenges the school has faced in recent years, Heather’s dedication and admiration for the school and its families have remained strong. With the school entering a new chapter with new administration, teachers, and challenges, Heather is interested in joining the Board of Directors to help navigate this path. She holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology and began her career as an early childhood therapist. She later transitioned into research, focusing on education, child development, and mental health, and currently works as a Senior Research Consultant.
Additionally, Heather volunteers her time as a writer for non-profits, and in 2021, she served as a grant writer for Futuro Verde, securing two grants to alleviate the school’s financial burden. Heather believes her background and experience would provide valuable insights and ideas to the Board of Directors. Above all, she sees Futuro Verde as a school for everyone, where every child is valued and supported. She is dedicated to ensuring that all children receive a quality education while also nurturing their emotional development.
