Admissions Requirements 2024-2025

Enrollment for the school year August 2024-2025 is open.

Admission Process:

To ensure a smooth admission process for the upcoming academic year, please follow the steps outlined below:

1. Complete the New Student Admission Form: Please fill out the Admission Form thoroughly.
2. Payment: Submit a payment of $100 per student for the Admission Process. Account details can be found here.
3. Submit the Following Documents 
   • A. Complete transcript covering at least two years (current and previous school year). Parents must request an official transcript to be sent directly to Futuro Verde. Digital copies are accepted for the application process; however, original official transcripts are required for student records.
   • B. Any psychometric or special education testing, IEP, or special educational plans or accommodation documentation.

Particularities of January Admissions – Mid Year Admissions for students tranferring from a Costa Rican national calendar (February to December) to a Northern Hemisphere Calendar (August to June) – Students may be admitted to their current grade level or the previous grade depending on the admissions evaluations results and interview.

• This assessment is particularly important for students coming from a national calendar (January to December).
• The goal is to determine whether the student is ready to begin a new academic year with us, even if it falls in the middle of our academic calendar, or if it is recommended that they repeat the recently completed grade. This ensures the student can adjust to the change and catch up in necessary areas.

For students in PreK to Third Grade:

      A. A Special Education assessment will be conducted to identify the student’s academic level in key competencies.

     B. Admissions Interview: Student will be  interviewed to better understand their needs, expectations, and level of academic and social development readiness.

From 4th to 10th Grade:

At Futuro Verde, applicants seeking enrollment as permanent students may be subject to testing and must successfully pass admissions exams to be considered for admission. The exams cover the following subjects:

       A. Spanish Language Arts: Reading, Writing and Listening.

       B. English Language Arts: Reading, Writing and Listening.

       C. Mathematics – Oxford IB Math
