“One language sets you in a corridor for life.
Two languages open every door along the way.”
– Frank Smith
Dual Immersion
Dual language is a form of bilingual education in which students are taught literacy and content in two languages. Dual language programs foster bilingualism, biliteracy, enhanced awareness of linguistic and cultural diversity, and high levels of academic achievement through instruction in two languages. At Futuro Verde we strive to deliver a top-notch dual language program that produces linguistically competent citizens of the world.
For the primary and middle school years, our 50-50 Spanish/English dual immersion program provides opportunities for students to learn language through content.
Our program at the diploma years offers students the opportunity to spend 60% of their day in Spanish and 40% in English.
Another language component is our third language program: students in 1st through 6th grade analyze language via a class called Comparative Language Study and middle schoolers can choose between either French or Classical languages.
