Association Futuro Verde

Multiculturalism, environmentalism, and social consciousness is the basis for the FUTURO VERDE PROJECT.

The Futuro Verde Project is an association with the goal to create a community education.

Centro Educativo International Bilingüe Futuro Verde

Private bilingual international school which is auto-financed by monthly school fees and which extends scholarships of some kind to at least 30% of the student body.

Jeffe Tanghe

Mother of Mimiluz (Grade 3), Paula (Grade 6), and Stepmother of Theo (Grade 5). Jeffe Tanghe has called Santa Teresa, Costa Rica, home for over a decade. Originally from Belgium, she moved to the area with her husband and their five children. With a background in business psychology, she transitioned to owning a boutique hotel and is now active in real estate. Her approach to life emphasizes an open mindset, dialogue, and the power of listening. Elected as President of the Futuro Verde School Board, Jeffe brings her dedication to community connection, her deep understanding of the school’s culture as a parent, and her commitment to financial sustainability. As a fellow parent, she understands the shared goals and concerns around education and is committed to ensuring students enjoy a quality education and rich experiences. She believes that together with educators, board members, and parents, they can build a bright future for Futuro Verde.

About Soledad

Soledad is a dedicated advocate for organic education and sustainability. Originally from Buenos Aires Province, Argentina, she spent part of her career in the administrative sector of road construction before fully committing to sustainability initiatives over 15 years ago. In 2014, she met her partner Luis, and together they have worked in private gastronomy since then. The birth of her daughter, Almendra, in 2016, who now attends third grade at Futuro Verde, marked a new chapter in Soledad’s journey. During her time in Mexico, she discovered a passion for Natural Medicine, specializing in Herbal Therapy and Floral Medicine. Her primary goal is to foster stronger communication between the school and parents, striving to address community needs and encourage shared growth in a setting that values nature and conscious education.

About Kate

Kate Schenone MacGregor, originally from England, is the mother of two children at Futuro Verde: Inigo (1st grade) and Ophelia (4th grade). She holds a degree in Modern Iberian and Latin American Studies from University College London and a PGCE from Goldsmiths University. Her teaching journey spans nearly 20 years across both private and public sectors, including at Only Love School in Mal País. Bilingual in English and Spanish, Kate now focuses on her family business, blending creativity with more family time. Dedicated to children’s holistic development, she is eager to bring her experience to Futuro Verde’s board.

About Eli

Born and raised in Costa Rica, Elizabeth serves as the broker for Coldwell Banker Sunset Reef Realty. With over six years of expertise in real estate on the Nicoya Peninsula, she possesses extensive knowledge of the regions of Santa Teresa, Mal Pais, Montezuma, and Tambor. Having relocated to Santa Teresa nine years ago, Elizabeth sought to deepen her connections with nature and relish the stunning coastline. Through these experiences and a robust network of contacts, she has cultivated authentic relationships and opportunities within the area. In addition to her real estate career, Elizabeth holds a degree in Digital Photography. Outside of work, she is a devoted mother of two daughters, a purple belt holder in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, an enthusiastic mountain biker, and a StrongFirst Certified Fitness Instructor.

About Emma

Originally from Minnesota, USA, Emma Todd Lacono moved to Montezuma a decade ago and, with her husband, runs the family-owned Ylang Ylang Beach Resort, a business with 30 years of history. Recently elected to the Futuro Verde Board, Emma brings a background that combines a BA in Sociology and Public Policy with a Master’s in Educational Leadership. Her prior experience includes working in the off-campus studies office at colleges and universities, and she is dedicated to supporting Futuro Verde’s growth and community.

About Ginger

Ginger Doud, with a Bachelor’s degree in Business and certification as an Enrolled Agent with the IRS, grew up immersed in her family’s tax business, which laid a strong foundation in finance and business management. Building on this experience, she and her husband started four successful small businesses and eventually established a consulting firm to support other small businesses. Alongside her entrepreneurial ventures, Ginger is actively involved in real estate projects and brings expertise in finance, business operations, and strategic planning to help businesses thrive through efficient systems and sound financial organization.
