An Overview

The international mindedness of our school comes full-circle in the diploma program at Futuro Verde.  Our diverse student population begins the transition to diploma studies and preparation through an intensification in studies, a focus on individual service and an eye on future studies and careers.  With a rigorous schedule and program of both breadth and depth that includes core subjects, service projects and college preparation, our 10th graders work actively toward their  future in our IB Diploma Program in the 11th and 12th grades.  Through classes that support critical thinking, writing intensiveness in the core subject areas and a distinct focus on action and service our oldest students are a strong example of the rigor and service that Futuro Verde inculcates in students.

Highlights of Futuro Verde’s Diploma Years program:

• Core subject taught in either Spanish or English
• Science classes that focus on Chemistry, Biology, Physics and Health
• Weekly environmental education classes
• Physical education classes and swimming lessons each week
• Creative opportunities in visual arts and music
• Psychology classes
• Opportunity for participation in advanced placement, university recognized calculus classes and math olympics
• Weekly college counseling classes focused on university preparation, research, and test preparation.
